Repair & Refresh
by Analei Samaseia
Held in partnership with: Taylor Andrews Academy
As part of our commitment to sustainability, self-care, and cultural empowerment, Creative Pacific proudly hosted Repair & Refresh, a free, hands-on community service event designed to give new life to clothing and a fresh boost of confidence to attendees.
Promoted with the message, “Why toss it when you can fix it—for FREE?" This event invited community members to bring in gently damaged clothing for on-the-spot mending and offered free hair trims and washes, all made possible through our collaboration with the talented students and professionals from Taylor Andrews Academy and our volunteer team of sewists.
The turnout was incredible—over 80 people came through our doors for repairs and haircuts, each leaving a little lighter, brighter, and better cared for. Our volunteers worked tirelessly throughout the day, ensuring that every person was seen, helped, and uplifted. From stitching buttons to washing away stress, this event was a tangible expression of what it means to show up for one another.
We are deeply proud of the energy, teamwork, and community spirit that defined this day. The overwhelming response confirmed that Repair & Refresh meets a real need—and we’re committed to doing it again. Plans for future sessions are already underway.
This initiative is part of Creative Pacific’s broader mission: to celebrate culture through action, creativity, and care—and to build meaningful, grassroots programs that make a difference in everyday lives.
