TEINE TEU TEU
PENELOPE TINITALI
My name is Penelope Tinitali. I was born and raised in Tacoma, Washington, with roots that stretch across the Pacific—my mom is from Saleimoa, Samoa, and my dad is from Vaitogi, American Samoa. As a proud single mom of three, family is at the heart of everything I do.
I am the founder and fashion designer behind Teine Teu Teu, where I specialize in sewing and screen printing. My journey with sewing began in 2010, and in 2016, I turned my passion into a business. My kids are an integral part of my work—they run the screen printing side of our business, naming it after their sibling, my middle child, who also helps me sew and brings Marania Prints to life.
In addition to Teine Teu Teu, I am also the owner and Samoa Fashion Show Director of Teu Runway, which is now celebrating its 5th annual show. Teu Runway is a platform dedicated to showcasing Samoafashion, culture, and creativity.
Sewing runs deep in my family; I come from a long line of talented seamstresses. I dedicate my art and every stitch I make to my beloved mom, who has always been my greatest inspiration.
